For a custom piece of jewelry like an engagement ring, our custom design process generally requires 3 visits with Josh in our office.
During our first visit we will get to know each other and discuss your needs. While some people have a very clear idea of the design they want, many people don’t have any design in mind which is normal; They just know that they want something nice and special. After a brief discussion and reviewing some models, Josh is usually able to get a good idea of what you are looking for. Together we will start working on the design for your custom jewelry, using 3D CAD modeling or a simple sketch pad. We will also discuss your budget for the project to ensure that the design meets your requirements. Private does not mean pricey! We are able to work within almost any budget. A 50% non-refundable deposit is collected to enable us to proceed with the design and manufacturing process.
When you return for your second meeting, we will review the finished 3D computer model of your custom jewelry. As an option to help you visualize your design, we can also make a wax model of your jewelry so you can wear it and hold it. After seeing your computer or wax model of your design we can discuss any changes that you would like to make. You can make as many changes as you wish until you absolutely love your design. During this meeting you will also choose your primary diamond or gemstone from a curated, handpicked selection of gems, each of which would perfectly suit your budget and design. With your design finalized and your gems selected, your custom jewelry is now ready to be crafted by our master jewelers.
Using both traditional and cutting-edge techniques, your custom jewelry will be crafted by our master goldsmiths and gem setters. Each piece is crafted to the highest standards and undergoes a rigorous quality control screening before being presented to you. When you return to pick up your finished custom jewelry, the invoice balance will be paid, and your finished custom jewelry will be presented to you in a luxury gift box.
